So ethanol has 34% less energy than gas. Not as efficient, etc etc. But if gas prices continue to rise and E85 prices stay the same, at some point gas will cost as much as E85 and will get you the same distance. I calculated it for my car’s mileage and figured out that when gas costs $4.60 per gallon (and it will), then I should switch to E85 because I will be paying the same amount to go the same distance, so I might as well put something more eco friendly in my tank 
Calculations to come later. There’s a good chance they will be wrong. I haven’t made myself do math in awhile :-p
